A change in the latest edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) heralds a trend towards destigmatizing (and ultimately legalizing) pedophilia.
Those who are sexually attracted to children but have not yet acted on their desires are no longer classified as having a psychiatric condition [1]. Only if such persons prove harmful or dangerous will they be diagnosed as having “pedophilia syndrome”.
This raises the possibility that molested children will soon have the legal burden of proving they suffered any harm from the abuse. In fact, it foreshadows a time, not so far in the future, when child molesters will not be prosecutable at all. The stomach roils in disgust.
Vernon Quinsey (professor emeritus in psychology at Queen’s University, Ontario) and Hubert Van Gijseghem (psychologist and retired professor from the University of Montreal) are two of the “experts” who have advised legislators that pedophilia is a sexual orientation, comparable to heterosexuality and homosexuality [2].
Russia has considered outlawing this reclassification, in an attempt to sidestep the controversy [3]. Iran has meanwhile legalized pedophilia [4]. A new law there permits stepfathers to marry their adopted daughters as young as age 13.
Tragically, this is not the full extent of the evil now taking hold in the world.
Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Co-President of the Greens/European Free Alliance in the European Parliament, is promoting pedophilia as a part of his political agenda.
In the ‘70s Cohn-Bendit worked in a day care center with an aggressively “anti-authoritarian” approach. Children as young as 5 and 6 were deliberately exposed to sexuality, to counter the influence of traditional morality [6].
Cohn-Bendit later published a book on his experiences. Here is a disturbing excerpt:
“My flirtations with all children soon acquired a definitely erotic character. I could sense how young girls aged five had already learned how to get off with me…It happened several times that some children opened my codpiece and started caressing me. According to the circumstances of each case, I reacted differently, but the children’s wishes posed problems for me… [W]hen they insisted, I caressed them in return. I was accused of being a pervert, and there were letters to the City Council, asking whether I was paid for by public funds…”
Pedophile groups joined the Greens to draw maximum advantage from the sexual revolution and Gay Movement, not only in France but Germany [7] [8].
OVERCOMING THE WORLD – FAITH IN CHRIST
Evil has many faces. The exploitation of children is among the most heinous.
Depravity to this extent knocks the breath out of us. We hardly know how to react. Yet we must oppose the menacing trends we see around us, while we have strength to do so.
We are not assured victory in every battle. Our task is to fight the good fight…and through every trial and set-back to hold fast to the truth of our Salvation through Christ. This is what is meant by overcoming the world through faith.
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” (1 John 5: 4).

This is Paedophile Information Exchange revisited. it was their ambition to change the law regarding paedophilia fortunately they were stopped and most of their leaders were dealt with either through the courts or by outing and shunning them. There is some reflection on what some academics have said in support of paedophile publications and authors a strong light is being shone on their attitudes and hopefully they will all realise how wrong they are. I think its a continuing problem and we must all remain ever alert to the potential for harm.
Scary. I don’t know why people can’t talk about sexuality as a non-coercive, mutually respectful, and undertaken when both parties are able to consent?
Sadly, this is a corrupt world.
