A New York grand jury has indicted billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, on charges of trafficking dozens of underage girls for sex between 2002-2005 [1].
Around 80 victims have come forward, some as young as 14 y.o. at the time.
The girls were sometimes promised modeling contracts, and sometimes given money to recruit other girls. The promise of modeling contracts is not uncommon, among sex traffickers [2].
A Life of Luxury
Epstein, 66 y.o., led a life of luxury, regularly associating with the likes of Prince Andrew, Michael Bloomberg, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, and Alec Baldwin [3]. With unlimited funds, six opulent homes, and a private island at his disposal, Epstein lacked for nothing.
Nothing, it appears, but character.
Earlier Conviction

In 2007, Epstein was convicted in Florida of soliciting prostitution. Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta (then a federal prosecutor) agreed to waive federal charges, if Epstein pled guilty to the less severe state charges.
As a result, Epstein served a mere 13 months, permitted out on work release. Contrary to law, the terms of that sweetheart deal were withheld from Epstein’s many victims.
Epstein is now claiming double jeopardy. However, the original plea agreement does not bind New York [5]. And double jeopardy does not bar federal prosecution for actions a state may, also, have prosecuted.
A Day of Reckoning
A man who believed himself above the law, Jeffrey Epstein may at last face a day of reckoning.
“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees…
To rob the needy of justice,
And to take what is right from the poor…
What will you do in the day of punishment…
To whom will you flee for help?
And where will you leave your glory?” (Isaiah 10: 1-3).

Very good post Anna, they never seem to get punished enough probably due to the people he rubs shoulders with. Many years ago (nearly 40 years ago) I remember a case of young girl who went to a model agency in Leeds, UK (his office was on the Headrow in Leeds well known) with her parents and they met with a man the agency owner and an Italian chaperone who was going to take the girl for an amazing modeling career in Italy. The parents never heard from their daughter again distraught they searched and could not find her. Eventually two years later the girl managed to escape. On her arrival to Italy she was drugged and put into prostitution. Modeling is not all it is cracked up to be. So many have been duped. Epstein looks an evil man, he has a demonic brow. I hope he gets what he deserves. Sickening people on this Earth. Birds of a feather do flock together.
How tragic! I am glad to know she did escape. Far too many do not which makes it all the more important that such predators be prosecuted when we can find them.
They must be prosecuted.
A perfect example of how certain segments of our society live as though they are above the law. Murderers, sexual predators, Hollywood, rock and roll acts, and yes even some politicians are given celebrity status in our world today and are often thought of as being above the law. Of course, we cannot overlook the fact that this is possible only because others who hold powerful positions permit this behavior to go unchallenged.
Scripture reminds us that “the love of money is the root of all evil”. That certainly comes into play with Mr. Epstein. Hopefully, he will finally be held accountable for his actions and never be permitted to walk as a free man again.

Stories as this often make one wonder if the wealthy are subject to to the same laws as do the rest of the populace. They certainly are. But one can hardly same the same about the treatment they receive from policymakers, prosecutors, laws enforcement, judges and sometimes the jury.
It is comforting to realize that the scriptures warn that there will ultimately be nowhere to run to on the day of reckoning.
