In 2011, a landmark study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York identified no single cause or predictor for the sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests between 1950 and 2010 [1A][2A].
Celibacy, Homosexuality, and Predation
Principal investigator on the study, Karen Terry PhD, stated that neither celibacy nor homosexuality were causes of the abuse. Terry concluded that “The increased frequency of abuse in the 1960s and 1970s was consistent with the patterns of increased deviance of society during that time [2B].”
It is not politically correct to criticize homosexual behavior today. However, more than 80% of victims in this study were pre-teen and teenage boys [1B]. In other words, the problem was primarily one of male-on-male predation by Catholic priests on underage boys.
The Sexual Revolution
Alfred Kinsey — the bisexual author of the Sexual Revolution — is known to have had great animosity toward the Catholic Church [3A][4]. It is now believed that he discarded research data which did not support his intended goal of normalizing homosexuality [3B].
Cultural Marxism
Communism is inherently hostile to religion. Karl Marx termed religion “the opiate of the masses” [5] . Religious persecution is endemic in Communist countries around the world. The state — rather than God — must reign supreme, in the Communist view.
Though disputed by the Left, the fact that Marxist efforts to undermine Western civilization and overthrow capitalism are ongoing is difficult for an objective observer to deny [6].
In this connection, Bella Dodd — a teacher, union activist, lawyer, and long-time Communist who later recanted — confessed to friends, Alice and Dietrich von Hildebrand, that she personally recruited over 1000 men who were both Communists and homosexuals for the express purpose of undermining the priesthood [3C][7][8][9].
How many predator priests may actually have been pursuing a Communist agenda we will never know.
Consequences
None of this justifies the Catholic Church’s handling of the sex abuse scandal. The approach taken for many years was to circle the wagons, to protect the clergy at the expense of countless betrayed young congregants [2C].
Those caught up in the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s may have deluded themselves into thinking that homosexual sexual activity was not a violation of the vow of celibacy, that their actions would have no harmful consequences for the victims, that those actions did not constitute the moral failure known as sin [10].
The Catholic Church hierarchy does not have that excuse to fall back upon.

[10] This is not in any way to suggest that all those engaged in homosexual behavior are child molesters. Undoubtedly, heterosexuals can, also, be child molesters. Scripture does, however, view homosexual behavior as disordered and contrary to natural law. God wants better than that for men and women both.

The connection between communists and sexual predators is unbelievable.
It stunned me, as well.
So informative, Anna. The confession to the Hildebrands is shocking but unsurprising. That the motives of a great number of those in ministry are impure and evil explain the decreasing influence of the church on cultural norms today. Instead it’s increasingly the other way round.
That the love of many would grow cold was prophesied (Matt. 24: 12). We are in the End Times, and must cling to our faith in God whether we are involved with a formal church organization or not.
Interesting, Anna. My state has really struggled in this area because it is practically against the law to say anything about predatory homosexuality or to somehow imply that sexual abuse can occur within the context of homosexuality. Needless to say a lot of abusers are able to simply hide behind that label now, in order to avoid any “persecution.”
Tragically, the situation will only grow worse. The darkness is rising, Gabrielle.

At its core, the Roman Catholic priesthood is built upon many fraudulent premises, one of which is that a man, born with the natural, God-given desires and instincts of all men, is able by sheer will and sacrificial commitment to overcome those instincts. That is a fallacy the Catholic church refuses to concede.
That does not, however, excuse the deviant behavior of men hiding behind clerical garb. If anything, they are merely acting out the evil that abides in their own hearts, for a heart transformed by the grace and mercy of God knows no such evil.
To be sure, sexual abuse of children is not, sad to say, uncommon across all denominations in this time we are living. Just as certain is that the Almighty sees and hears all, and all who participate in such heinous and grievous sin will be called to give an account.
In short, sexual abuse of any type is despicable, but when it happens at the hands of men who have sworn allegiance to God, it is even more deplorable.
I believe there will be dire consequences in the life hereafter for those who have abused children, most especially clergy. In fact, I count on that.
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matt. 18: 6).

Communism is of Luciferian origin, and emerged in the context of the Enlightenment, but as a negative expression of the “god of reason.”
As you may know, a prostitute was installed in Notre Dame Cathedral as the “goddess of reason” during the French Revolution.

The Declaration of Independence makes reference to a Creator and the equality of men. Christians, of course, are to cooperate with any form of government (Rom. 13: 1-7), so long as we are not called on to act immorally (Acts 5: 29).

That biological men who believe themselves to be women are being permitted to compete with biological women in the name of sport (or Woke ideology) is despicable. The inequity to women is obvious.
I do not mean to sound uncharitable. I believe these men are disturbed, and deserving of compassion. But catering to their delusion will not heal the underlying wound.
