Thank you for sharing this with a broader audience, Anna. I think it’s largely unknown that, across much of the world, sexual violence—whether used as a tactic or a “casual” outcome of conflict—is the norm. I cannot claim firsthand knowledge of Sudan, but during my previous professional travels abroad, I was stunned—and horrified—by the cultural acceptance of sexual violence and abuse, including predatory and violent behavior toward children, that was prevalent in many societies.
In our own society, which places such a high premium on acceptance and tolerance, it’s difficult to reconcile these stark cultural differences—differences that conflict with our most basic and fundamental understanding of what is decent or acceptable.
Simply put, I don’t think most Americans have any idea how widespread and severe these issues truly are around the world. However bad one may imagine it to be, it’s far worse.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Scott.
This is heart-wrenching but I hit Like because you are calling attention to it.❤️🙏
Thank you, CA.
😢
About a dozen years ago, I attended church with a young man who said he felt God wanted him to go to Chad as a missionary. His beautiful blonde wife and his beautiful blonde girls would have been easy prey for the violent men who controlled the area. You can’t imagine how relieved I was when his plans fell apart and he could no go there.
The magnitude of evil being perpetrated against women and girls is not something we in the West can fully comprehend because it goes against everything we have been taught that is right and good. This is another level of evil that our minds simply recoil from, yet it is the daily reality of those unfortunate enough to live there.
I know I sound like a broken record, but this is what happens when man rejects Jesus Christ and His endless love for all of us: he is eventually given over to a reprobate mind, incapable of anything but hatred and violence.
To those who have stated that “evil does not exist, it is a fragment of our imagination”, I would ask if they would allow their wife or daughter to live under such conditions?
I fully agree w/ you, Ron. You are stating a fundamental truth that many refuse to accept.
I could not watch this video, Anna, but I can pray with you and the body of Christ that the strength of those whose hands commit such atrocities and those in power who turn a blind eye to it will be broken by the power of our Savior’s right arm, and that He will return soon.
I wholeheartedly join in that prayer, Dora. ❤
I pray for Sudan all these years and so sad to hear about these sinful abuse
